Congress of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on Domestic Violence
Fhmdd Fundacion on Aruba will host the 1st domestic violence congress for the kingdom of the Netherlands today and tomorrow, We at Safe Haven Foundation SXM encourage our friends to attend if you can make it. The more you know, the smarter you’ll be. Domestic violence is everybody’s business.
This congress aims to get those within the Kingdom of the Netherlands to stop talking and act. We all suffer from this growing epidemic of Domestic Violence and the time to act is now. We will discuss the problems and get to a consensus on how to proceed and act.
A ticket is 30$ for a day and 50$ for both days. It includes a lunchbox, coffee & tea.

Thank you to all the members of the community that came out to listen to the heartfelt stories on Friday night. The true MVPs of this event were the speakers who taught us that committing ourselves to changing a community’s mindset about how we treat women is very important. They also motivated us to advocate to judiciary services that more needs to be done to bring perpetrators to the law. Thank you Shelly Gordon, Shaderel Cornet, Benjamin Ortega and Ardwell Irion… and other spontaneous speakers!
Event: Meet the survivors
It’s Friday November 24th. Come out to the University of St. Maarten at 6PM in room 202 and hear the lived experiences of women that have survived intimate partner violence and men that are against violence against women and girls.
Safe Haven Foundation SXM kicks off the 16 days of activism #orangetheworld with a dialogue about gender-based violence. Bring your teenage daughters and sons to what will be a very informative evening – the last for 2017 from Safe Haven to the general public.
